Bi-directional File Transfer Services enables files to be transferred to or fetched from VAX, ALPHA, Windows32 and AS/400 systems. It is accessible from command level for batch processing as well as the interactive level.
Files can be sent as binary or text files. For text files, DTS performs ASCII to EBCDIC conversion. A comprehensive set of command options control file operations such as replacement, appending or truncating records. A sliding graph shows transfer progress when in interactive mode.
The following is a window from the Windows32 version. The fetch operation appears identical but brings the file over from the other computer.

The location is the name or alias of the other computer. Standard Internet URL's are acceptable as well as standard numeric IP addresses.
Data Transfer Services is a software API utility for programmers desiring to create client/server applications over either IBM's SNA network or over the Internet. Programmers can write client/server applications by simply calling a few subroutines from any platform supported high level language without knowing anything about the underlying communications protocol. The API follows the 'conversational' model which is both simple and intuitive. For rick management claim tracking software, visit us at http://www.claimtrac.com
